Celtic Wedding Invitations

Grandmothers used to warn their grandchildren, “when you get married, marry someone your class, your religion, and your ethnicity.” While this piece of advise doesn’t guarantee happiness (indeed, there are many people of different classes, religions and ethnicities that get married and live happily), it certainly can help smooth some things and increase a bit the likehood of living happily ever after.

If you and your spouse are both of Irish heritage, why not celebrate it with Celtic wedding invitations? Even if you don’t want to have a Celtic theme wedding in order to make your friends and guests not feel alienated, sending out Celtic wedding invitations is still a great idea to say “This is who I am, this is where my spouse and I come from, this is who my family and ancestors are, and I’m proud of it all.”

In addition, Celtic wedding invitations have the simplicity, yet elegant touch of Celtic art. You may, for example, have some Celtic crosses, which will allow you to show both your religion and heritage. They can be richly decorated or beautifully simple, whichever fits your taste.

Of course, there’s nothing that says Irish like clovers. You can frame the content of your Celtic wedding invitations with a line of clovers for a good effect. You can have one big clover in a corner that will call the by-passer’s attention to the card. Or you can have two clovers intersected at the top of the Celtic wedding invitations, representing the two lovers who have decided to join their lives in matrimony. For a bit of effect, make one clover a bit taller than the other. This will immediately make them easy to identify them as a man and a woman (except if the bride happens to be taller than the groom, of course).

If you’re the religious type, you might even want to have the image of Saint Patrick on your Celtic wedding invitations. There won’t be a person with Irish heritage in your guest list that won’t feel the connection with Ireland’s greatest holy man. If you feel that the image of a Saint is a bit too religious for your guest list, you can substitute it for an image of the Shamrock Anyone with Irish blood in his or her veins will instantly recognize it, whereas the rest of the people will just see it as an Irish clover.

So, as you can see, there are many ideas you can apply to your Celtic wedding invitations. Most of all, they will show you that you’re proud to be who you are.
